I don't much care about the Razzie Awards. Sure, they're kind of fun, especially when the screws are given to the movies that just kind of keep on irking you with their every mention (Twilight, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), but really, do we really need yet another reminder of the movies that we are trying our hardest to forget from last year?
The biggest nominees are no surprise: Transformers, New Moon, All About Steve and so on.
Two things are interesting/funny/stupid though. 1) Hugh Hefner is nominated as worst supporting actor in Miss March for playing himself. I guess this thwarts what the Italian neo-realists used to say about everyone being able to play one role perfectly: themselves. What's also surprising is that Miss March, which was one of the worst American comedies ever made, had no further nominations.
2) This year the Razzies will be handing out awards for the decade's worst movies/performances, which include, not surprisingly, Eddie Murphy, Mariah Carey, Ben Affleck and Madonna.
The Razzie's will be given out the night before the Oscars.
